I had the blessing of reading a wonderful topic from a blogger, Matt
Walsh. If you have not read it, you should. If you believe that "casual
sex" is great and a way to express yourself, you have been deceived by
yours truly, Satan. I have reason to believe that the adversary wants us
to be miserable like unto himself. So he talks through media,
gossiping, and casual conversations. Telling many teenagers and even
some grown ups out there that Having sex is a modern way to express that
way you feel about the other person. But out bodies are sacred places
for us. If we let people come close to us we let them in, sex is
intimate and a very connective act of love. Once someone experiences
that part of you, you feel committed and connected...do you not? If you
have already come to this part in your life and you regret it, you can
still start a new life, path, and commitment to yourself. Media, the
world, and those people who says it is okay to have casual and
meaningless sex are sad and want others to be miserable to, because I
believe they regret it and are covering up how they really feel,
horrible. I have included the link to Matt's blog because this will help
you understand where this is coming from. Enjoy the blog:

Sometimes life can be complicated, stressful, or just too fast. So this is a time to sit back and reflect and see what is all around us, happening right now.

Brand NEW attitude
I just celebrated my 26th birthday...in Mormon culture this is OLD. Because I am not married or have at least 2 children. Really?! I am so tired of people telling me that I am denied the precious gift of a family. I am reminded of this every General Conference and sacrament talk!!!!
So, instead of being bitter of not completing this chapter of my life and giving in to those who are telling me what I am lacking in my life. I have decided to be be the bigger person and turn to the Lord for guidance. During this past session of General Conference I took some notes from a talk in the Sunday Session based off L. Whitney Clayton.
The thought came to me why do I have to wait to be married to start putting my life in order. I have not been an avid Temple attender, scripture reader, or even service provider. So I have decided to read my scriptures everyday, dedicate a time to go to the temple each week, pray on my knees daily, daily exercise, and provide service everyday. I have decided not to be bitter, I have decided to be happy that I am single and can build my relationship tighter than it has ever been with my much needed Father and Daughter time. I am happy, and I don't need others telling me what can make me happier. I love the Lord and right now that is all that matters!!!
Someone once told me, "own your life" and I feel making this decision in my life is the right way to do so, for me.

Self-Confidence
I took a poetry class this semester in college and I loved it. I was integrated with so many different personalities, which I came to adore. I learned so much from my peers and their criticism. There was this one lady (she was young, I just like calling girls ladies) who would come in and she just had her own style. I loved her poetry and her confidence. She wrote a poem in class that caught my attention and had me sit back and relax and reflect on how I view myself.
I think in today's society so many young girls look at their flaws and hate them, but what we need to do is love them. Love who you are, what you look like, and your own personal style. I loved this poem, because this is a full blown personality of a wonderful woman who has found her divine nature of a daughter of God. LOVE YOURSELF, LADIES!!! It is what God intended for us to do!!! :)
I received permission from her to use her poem on my blog, and let me tell you....get ready for some amazingly written work!!!

To Be
Spoken Aloud With Attitude & A Few Teeth Suckings
No one like
me!
How could
there be?
Not anyone
with these thighs
I stay
flying high
As I subtly
strut down every hall, sprawled
I know that
they’re all appalled
At the
sight of my curly wavy free bird “good luck” natural God given frizz
Untamable
That most
hairstylists deem uninhabitable and closer to a jungle
No one like
me
Afro poof
reaching each corner of every room, foxy
Dark red
drippings from a chemical tube of a new beginning
This brain
attached to the interior walls of my noggin brimming
With its
nerves neurons and tubular veins wrapped like a papoose
Looks just
like a raisin filled with knowledge juice
I soak up
discovery with sunlight through a poet’s monocle
Shedding
muddy red squiggles, it’s only anatomical
With these
undusted little polka dots all over this olive face
I’m
limitless, with nothing in my past to erase
No one like
me
Body surrounded
by fields of dirty veggies
Wind
blasting my body until I’ve got a wedgie
And as this
snow falls so willingly
I’ll move on from here towards infinity
While these farming cultures fade like a
counter-revolutionary
Into the metropolis of my imagined future
Always surf the net til’ I sleep with my
computer
Is there no
one like me?

The Freedom to choose
It matters to live your life full of uncertainty. Everyone
thinks we have to know what every path of our life contains. I have slowly come
to learn and realize, where is the fun in that? How fun and enjoyable would
life be if we lived each day knowing what we would be doing, where we would be
going, and who we would be meeting. I didn’t sign up for a play by play of
life. I chose to live my life and make it my own. I decided to own it and use
prayer for guidance. I love faith, even though there are times when I wish I
had a magic 8 ball to shake and see what to do next. I love deciding what I, a
daughter of God, who is trusted to make the right decisions. I am grateful for
miracles I can see everyday because I choose to be good and make the right
choices.

Hidden Monster
I have heard of many lives destroyed by the prongs of evil in the world. I believe it is time for people to see how this hurts those around us. I wrote this poem in my advanced poetry class, we were asked to write something real and raw, and this is what I wrote:
Hidden Monster
Boxy, portable, and full of
viruses
Secret, addictive, and fills the
mind
Closed behind a door, connected
through wires,
And accessible in every home
PORNOGRAPHY
I’m done sugar coating it
I’m through trying to be nice
I’m finished trying to believe it
doesn’t exist
IT DOES!
IT, hurts, you want to know how:
IT, leaves a mother with her
children alone, trying to raise a
family where it’s not complete
IT, creates falsehoods in a girls
mind
thinking the only way to a man’s heart
is to bare it all and nothing
more
IT, leads a man to think his
manhood is
benign to
a web of wires and a homepage
IT, abandons your daughter or son
to a life full of
disappointment and isolation of a
childhood
never to be returned
LEAVE IT!
I am here and I am full of
veins that carry blood to my heart
that will beat only for you,
but you don’t hear the rhythm
I have a mind full of intricate
pathways
that will lead to extraordinary
places,
but will never be explored, by
you
HOWEVER,
You will forget all of that, just to gravitate
toward
A cold, hard, emotionless machine,
only to find
Its modem has never loved you,
let alone,
Known you even exist
CRASH IT!

School project
Listed below you will find a few titles I hope you go through. I was given this assignment at the beginning of the school year. I was to go through some topics picked out in class and I was to go through some of our general church leaders and find quotes based off of those topics. It was a wonderful and valuable experience for me. I love this project and I hope you do too!
Pornography
PRONOGRAPHY
“Pornography is especially dangerous and
addictive. Curious exploration of pornography can become a controlling habit,
leading to coarser material and to sexual transgression. Avoid pornography at
all costs.”
“Don’t
be afraid to walk out of a movie, turn off a television set, or change a radio
station if what’s being presented does not meet your Heavenly Father’s
standards. In short, if you have any question about whether a particular movie,
book, or other form of entertainment is appropriate, don’t see it, don’t read
it, don’t participate.”
“Because
sexual intimacy is so sacred, the Lord requires self-control and purity before
marriage as well as full fidelity after marriage. In dating, treat your date
with respect and expect your date to show that same respect for you. Tears
inevitably follow transgression.”
-President
Thomas S. Monson
“It
is interesting that people who are involved with pornography
often assume a false identity and hides their participation.”
“Pornography is a plague that is detrimental not only to
a person’s moral standing with God, but it can also destroy marriages and
families and has an adverse impact on society
-Elder
Quentin L. Cook
“In
our day the dreadful influence of pornography is like unto a plague sweeping
across the world, infecting one here and one there, relentlessly trying to
invade every home, most frequently through the husband and father,”
“Priesthood
holders carry with them the antidote to remove the terrible images of
pornography and to wash away guilt. The priesthood has the power to unlock the
influence of our habits, even to unchain from addiction, however tight the
grip. It can heal over the scars of past mistakes.”
“every
soul confined in a prison of sin, guilt, or perversion has a key to the gate.
The key is labeled ‘repentance.’ If you know how to use this key, the adversary
cannot hold you. The twin principles of repentance and forgiveness exceed in strength the awesome
power of the tempter.
-President
Boyd K. Packer
“He
said we cannot minimize the seriousness of pornography no matter what shape,
form, or dosage it comes in.”
Third, do all
that you can to avoid pornography
Finally, do not patronize pornography”
--Elder Dallin H. Oaks
Pornography is a wide spread epidemic
in the world today. It has destroyed families and people of all genders, races,
and social latters. It tears people down into a depth of slime. But Christ knew
of these hard trials in life, but that doesn’t mean there is not a way out. I
am so grateful for Christ and his atonement, that we can turn to him in times
of need and see there is a way out of Satan’s traps set before us everyday. I
am so grateful for that accessibility there for each of us.
Provident Living
PROVIDENT
LIVING
“Living
providently reflects our true eternal nature: we are “to act for [ourselves]
and not to be acted upon”
“All
of us are responsible to provide for ourselves and our families in both
temporal and spiritual ways. To provide providently, we must practice the
principles of provident living: joyfully living
within our means, being content with what we have, avoiding excessive debt, and
diligently saving and preparing for rainy-day emergencies.”
-Robert
D. Hales
“Begin
to prepare for a temple marriage as well as for a mission. Proper dating is a
part of that preparation.”
“We
can so live that we can call upon the Lord for His protection and guidance. …
We cannot expect His help if we are unwilling to keep His commandments.”
“when
much has been given to us much is required of us”
“I
know that we are not perfect men. We know the perfect way, but we do not always
act according to our knowledge. But I think that for the most part we are trying.”
“They
did not send away any who were naked, or that were hungry, or that were
athirst, or that were sick, or that had not been nourished; and they did not
set their hearts upon riches; therefore they were liberal to all, both old and
young, both bond and free, both male and female, whether out of the church or
in the church, having no respect to persons as to those who stood in need”
“What
we have experienced in the past was all foretold, and the end is not yet. Just
as there have been calamities in the past, we expect more in the future.”
“if
ye are prepared ye shall not fear”
“Wherefore,
stand ye in holy places, and be not moved, until the day of the Lord come”
Being prepared in any situation is
important. You will never know when a time of preparation is needed. When you are
in school you need to be prepared for the tests, so you study. When you are in
a place with high rates of natural disasters then you prepare for a traumatic
event by taking the necessary steps if a catastrophe where to hit. When we are
prepared and know what precautions to take then we need not fear what may
beseech us. That is the comfort in the gospel
